Since 1994 the property market in South Africa has grown exponentially, fueled primarily by the peaceful transition to a democracy and the many other attractions that the country has to offer local and overseas visitors.

Foreign investment has grown substantially and the solid performance of the local and international stock markets generated vast sums of disposable income – and the property market has been a major benefactor of this.

By 2003 this positive sentiment and the simultaneous desire to follow a passion encouraged John Roberts (international businessman and property investor), Trevor Drabbe (experienced property developer) and Dave Dominicus (corporate businessman) to form Monarc Developments in Claremont, Cape Town. Active throughout the Western Cape, the business focus to date has been primarily on the Southern Suburbs (Newlands, Fernwood, Claremont, Kenilworth and Constantia) and Hout Bay, where our residential developments have tastefully changed the surrounding landscape, whilst positively impacting the lives of many owners, investors, tenants and the surrounding communities.

At Monarc Developments we believe that one’s quality of life is greatly enhanced by the quality of one’s living space. This relates not only to the home in which one resides, but equally so to the surrounding environment.

It follows then that Monarc Developments have and will continue to seek out opportunities where structural improvements combine seamlessly with architectural aesthetics and the surrounding landscape. Meet the team

John Roberts – Director (Non executive)
Co-founder and shareholder, John is responsible for the strategic analysis, local and International investor liaison and funding strategies. John’s ability to network and provide clear vision for Monarc are integral to its success.

Trevor Drabbe – Director (Executive)
Co-founder and shareholder, Trevor has a keen eye for opportunity that is balanced by the 20 years experience in the building and construction industry. Trevor’s main focus is on future projects and strategic alliances.

Dave Dominicus – Director (executive)
Co-founder and shareholder, Dave is primarily involved in day to day project management, finance, administration and client liaison, always ensuring that purchasers receive the quality product that has become synonymous with Monarc Developments.
